Help- Been Screwed - What can I do?

OK- Here's the deal.

I offered for trade an NHM-91 with 75 round drum mag. I was offered a complete 16" AR upper. I took the deal.

I sent the NHM and what I got was an 11.5" barreled complete upper with a 3" flash hider. This is useless to me. I am lucky that I don't even own an AR lower as I would be in violation of the NFA.

As it stands the upper is useless to me. I have e-mailed the guy on several occasions thinking that he may not have known it was illegal to mate this upper with a lower not registered as a class ? weapon.

Anyway he has not returned any of my e-mails and I feel like I have been screwed out of $400 to $500 bucks worth of a nice Norinco NHM-91 with folding bipod and drum mag.

Any suggestions or do I have to just take it in the a$$.

Do you have any other information about the person with whom you made this trade? A real name? An address? Or did you just ship to an FFL?

You may want to get in touch with the FFL who processed the NHM-91 on his end of the deal and see if it's someone they know. They might be able to help you out.

I don't know if small claims court would be an avenue of recourse, but it is worth looking in to.

Good luck.

Get one of the cool 5.5" AK brakes from Bushmeister. That's what I did, and it looks great. Only about $25.00, and you'll probably be able to unload it for $400-$500 at a gun show. Personally, I wouldn't have done the trade for just an upper. Oh, don't forget to Dremel off the bayonet lug/wings. The 11.5s W/ brake are really fun and pretty accurate.

GNS or INS coordinates of the suspected antagonist target. Complete with one -6 area H-Res. Satellite photo (Prefer a Mk8 or higher also known as a KLH-8) or high altitude CAVU Mk8 with computer enhanced image location.
One frag order complete with load out request, (two CBU-87’s if target is non-hardened, 2 GBU-15’s if hardened) two O-6 or higher authorizations on a CA-NAV-6OP and…

Quick advice from guy who claims to be lawyer

If the guy is in your state, you can take him to small claims court. You may be able to recover more than your damages (the cost of a nice Norinco) if you can prove the guy intended to deceive and defraud you. If he is out of your state, the costs involved in pursuing the civil action are probably not worth it to you. Has the guy committed any crimes or firearms offenses? Is mailing that item to your state a crime? Do you want to take your case to the cops/FBI/BATF, whatever?

Ledbetter
