HELP: Battery leak in my Lasermax

I had a LMS-1202 for a 870 in my safe. I opened it to install and noticed that it had batteries installed already but they looks a bit corroded and did not work. Is there a way to clean out the inside of the battery area before I buy new 3V Lithium batteries? Is this RUINED or can it be cleaned? Thanks.

What brand battery?
Most US companies will pay for any damage to the equipment they ruined.
Let us know if you contact them and what they say. Let them know WE are curious to how they handle the problem.

Rubbing alcohol

Well, Lasermax emailed me back and suggested using plain rubbing alcohol first. Did it and it worked great! I'll buy new batteries tomorrow and see if it works.

I would still send the battery company a letter demanding monetary damages for your time and the replacement cost of new batteries. Also mention that you are going to make a video about how to cleanup after so and so's batteries mess up your laser.

Sometimes a little bluffing goes a long way.

I had an Uzi laser sight ruined by Everready batts once. I called their 800 number and they told me to send it to them with a copy of some info about the replacement cost. They quickly sent me a check for the sight, sales tax, and shipping. It was easy. Now I use Duracells in everything and haven't had a problem in a long time.
