Help! Any experience with purchasing a Canadian Gun??

I know that I will get dinged, because I have asked this question under "Legal", but no takers.

I live in California and want to purchase a gun from a private party Canadian. I'm concerned about this side of things? Anyone have any experience with this? My FFL hasn't any experience and I can't find any definitive source of information. Help!

Have your dealer call ATF or refer to their booklets--an FFL holder can do an import on a one-time basis. Can't remember the number of the ATF form.
 
Ten round mags

The reason that I wanted to hear from someone that has done this is that many different governmental bodies may step in and mess things up. I understand that ATF is one such and a primary body.

ATF is the one agency who must approve the import request via their form.

I know of no federal reg prohibiting import of a "full-capacity" magazine. Clinton wants such a ban but hasn't yet received it.
