Has anyone added a tang sight to a Rossi R92? I am going to buy a Marbles or other tang sight and have my gunsmith install same.
What manufacturers sight is the best and/or cheapest? What did your gunsmith charge to install same?$$$$$$$$$????
What extras will I have to purchase screws etc? OR should I let the gunsmith buy all the stuff and install it?
Thanks

Its your rifle,do what makes you happy.
I regret that I put one on my Browning 92.I now have a plugged screw hole in my tang.

It seemed like a good idea at the time..but I found I just did not care to have the sight on the wrist. My hand did not like it.

I suggest you rubber band a sparkplug on the top of the tang and live with it a few hours before you decide.

If you do decide you want the tang peep, enjoy!

You need one longer tang screw, plus another screw.I do not think the hole pattern is exactly the same as the old sights. Its a choice to make.

You might consider a Beech Combination type front sight to go with it.
Why?.The Beech has two front sights. It flips. There is a blade or bead that is open, and lower. It works with your open barrel sight.

When you use the tang peep, you flip the hooded bead of the front sight up.It is taller. Why? This raises the line of sight up above the rear barrel sight notch,so it is out of the picture.

Its hard to shoot well with the same front sight for both a barrel open sight and the peep at the same time.

That is why the Beech is the way it is

You Guyz just turned on my light!

Thanks you... HIBC....... the tang sight would definitely get in my way of shooting. You have saved me a lot of money!
Auto5- Thank you-- This inexpensive? bolt sight is the way to go and I assume it is user friendly to install. I will look into same and get one.
CASE CLOSED and thank you both again for saving me time and money.
