I post this from the TSRA, TX where I live now, but from NY, my native soil:

Ray Carney is starting a crusade to get Jennifer's principal to reverse
himself in the issue that Ray describes below.

Okay gang, here's the deal.
As I previously stated, Jennifer Bono is being denied an informal photo
of herself in her graduating yearbook because she was photographed with
her AR15. Jennifer is a member of the New York State Rifle Team (service
rifle) and is a MASTER shooter at 16. She has been to the national
championships four years running and has won national women's titles in
each class she competed in. She is, in every way imaginable, an
outstanding young lady that any parent would be proud to announce as
their daughter. She is a leader in school, in church, in her community,
and she is entering the U.S. Coast Guard Academy this June. There can be
no doubt, none whatsoever, that she will become an Ensign in the service
of her country.

Supposedly, all of that is of no account because she likes to shoot
competitively; it would appear that is the judgment of her school
superintendent, who forbids Jennifer's photo with a rifle. He says it
will promote violence. I will not dignify that ignorant remark by an
educator with a response.

However, your E-M responses are needed. Address it to:
Mr. Roger A. Hutchinson
Hutch@Catskill.net
Superintendent of Schools,
Downsville, NY

Keep it civil - keep it clean - stay on track - marksmanship is a way of
life with Jennifer.
Her parents are most supportive of her competition. I am certain they
are not happy with the school decision, which is one more bow to the
left, and political
correctness. How I do hate that term . . . .

Copy Jennifer - it will make her glow, and her confidence to grow.
She is teropio@aol.com

Copy me - AbnSF@msn.com
I will create a file for future use.
The battle lines are drawn my friends.
It is no longer possible to be a non-combatant.

"After that confrontation, the force proceeded to Concord and destroyed
what arms could be found. The farmers and other residents then shot and
killed many of the force on its return march to Boston. It is difficult
to believe that these same citizens would have endorsed a Constitution
that would have authorized the national government to do precisely the
same thing." (TSRA amicus brief: US Vs Emerson)

Glenn, I'll tell you what I did. I emailed Ms Bono at the address you listed and offered her my assistance. If she wants a letter from me to be sent to Mr. Hutchinson I will write it and let my wife edit it before it's sent.

An Email to Mr.Roger A.Hutchinson, a copy to Ms. Jennifer Bono and a copy to Capt. Ray Carney, all done.

I posted this to the General forum also

Duh - but we carried the day:

Success!!! As a follow up to Ray Carney's crusade for Jennifer Bono, I
post the latest below. Today I was looking through a magazine and saw a
picture of Jennifer Bono and her trusty rifle. I promise you that anyone
would be proud to have this lass for a sister or daughter. Thanks to the
many of you that helped Jennifer.

On behalf of Jennifer Bono, thanks for your support. Your letters to her
school were rational and civil. School authorities agree that Jennifer
will have her graduation yearbook include an informal photo of her with
her trophies and gear, to include her competition rifle, an AR15 HBAR.

Letters came from as far away as the Philippines, and Australia, from
practically every state in the union, from Canada and Mexico, and from
people from all walks of life. Doctors, Lawyers, Indian Chiefs;
Grandmothers, Juniors, National Champions, Judges, Professors, College
Coaches, and of course, our Military. It was most impressive. Now,
please do the same cross-posting of this E-Mail as you did with my
original. It is important that everyone involved knows the final result.

In case you think the term Superkid was an exaggeration, I just got word
from another NYS Junior, Jaime Cervini; she has been accepted at West
Point. We have another lad going there too. Another lad enters Wharton
Business School at Penn State, and yet another a NYC University. So much
for children and firearms, Mr. Hutchinson.
