Held a Henry Golden Boy

They are rather nice looking guns. Mine (.17HMR) is on the way back to Henry. The muzzle end of the outer magazine tube was not attached solidly to the barrel. Called Henry, they said sent it back and sent me a prepaid mailing label. Couldn't have been nicer customer service. The shop that I bought it from packed if for shipment - gratis.

Shot it once. Very smooth, very accurate. Think I'm really gonna like it.

Local gun shop is raffling a HGB 22 Mag.

It was like holding art. The finish was mirror smooth and the furniture felt like antique.

I liked mine so much I bought a second one for my dad awesome guns I would highly recommend them

Depending on finacial things, I would like to get a Henry Big Boy in .357 for Christmas. They have the smoothest action I've ever felt on a lever gun. They're a little heavy but nothing compares in smoothness or appearance.

This is just my opinion,,,,,I have owned a Henry Octagon and a Goldenboy both in 22lr.....I don't know about you but I use my guns,in the woods, around my farm,etc.....one post said a golden boy is like a work of art...and that is true....but the bluing on the barrel and the painted receiver on the blue model and the plated receiver on the golden boy are not very sturdy finishes....the painted receiver model i had got scratched all the way to the metal by a small twig while walking thru the woods....the plating on the golden boy got all scratched up just from the roughness of my hands carrying it by the receiver.....i had rust show up on the lever welds coming out of the box....all in all....While they are beautiful to look at...if you plan to hunt with it...it wont stay beautiful very long.....if you are gonna spend that much money on a 22 then i suggest a browning lever or a marlin 39A.....both are very high quality firearms that are intended to be used in the woods....not hung on a wall....just my humble opinion...

I've had good experiences with Henry low end .22's and the higher cost GB models. Including the .22 mags. I have a .357 Mag on order now with my local dealer. I have several Henry's and set them up with or without scopes for different purposes. 22 shorts with open sight plinking, scoped for paper silhouette matches among buddies, and having a good time at the range with dad.
