Height of P7M8 rear sight

I have a P7M8 that I bought used that shoots very high (9" at 25yards). Since it groups well, and that seems like too much off to have come from the factory, I'm thinking the person I bought it from may have changed the sight from the factory one. So, can anyone who has a known factory rear sight on their P7M8 measure the height of the rear sight as viewed from the side and let me know what the measurement is?

From what measure to what measure do you want? I can do the bottom of the rear white dots to the ribbed top of the gun later tonight...however...

I was unaware of any height adjustments on the rear sights, or any after market sights for the P7...so lets check your sight picture. When you shoot, is your sight picture...

1) All three dots in a perfect row with perfect spacing?
2) Front white dot sight is in sharp focus...rear two dots slightly fuzzy, target fuzzy?

Also, when you shoot, while holding the pistol on target, squeeze the trigger and don't anticipate the "bang"...just keep it on target and let it go off "by surprise". See if your accuracy suddenly improves with these three things, it may not be the sights...

I appreciate the advice, but it's the sights, thank you. I'm making 3" groups at 25 yards without a problem, but this gun puts them about 9" above the bull.

Please give the measure viewing the sight from the side, its maximum vertical height.

My P7M8 rear sight is of the older variety (retained by a large vertically oriented screw) and measures 7mm or 9/32" in height, measured from the side. The measurement is made from where the sight contacts the slide.

From the highest point in the slide (the ribbed part) to the very bottom of the rear white dots is almost 2.5mm on both a P7M8 refurb and a P7M13.

Using the reference points of Keystone, my rear sight (measured as a separate piece) is also 7mm in height total from where it mounts in a recessed part of the slide.

How does that track on your gun?

Excellent! I measured the sight on mine last night, and it comes out to 7.8mm. It's not quite enough difference to produce 9" at 25yds, but that should be enough to get them into the black. Thanks.
