Heavy "Hint" for a new .45 last night...

It was from my wife, too. She wants a new Ruger .45 Long for Christmas. (Silly me, I was thinking about jewelery.) The problem is style. She's already made it very clear that she likes the "case-hardened" look, but not so clear regarding the grips. "Bird's Head" or regular "Cowboy" grips? I don't want to make a mistake here, and it's darn easy to make that mistake when you're buying a "surprise" pistol for someone else. I hate to ruin a surprise, but maybe I should show her some more pictures. I need to be a little more "sneaky". :) Opinions please????

Thanks,
KR

Gotta love 'em....they want a specific item, exactly "like this", but want to be surprised. I use the picture approach. Lay them out, tell her to pick her choices. Then, when she asks "Why, what ever do you have in mind?"(with eyelash flutters), I just shrug and tell her I was thinking about something for a friend. If you heal up from that, and have money left over from the medical bill, the "surprise" can be that you went ahead and bought it.

Greeting's All,

KR my friend, GO for it!:D There is nothing wrong with
Ruger's!:) All seems to be well, at this time.

Take her to a gun store where she can handle the different grip styles , since there are 3 choices , she might like the Bisley as well as either of the others you mentioned .

Yep...

I think I have it figured out. We'll go out to lunch and then I'll say, "Let's drop by the gun shop--just to look". And instead of wandering off, I'll just stand back a bit and "carefully" watch her face as she tries the Rugers. Yeah, that's the ticket! Gotta remember that we're going FOR HER. Can't-wander-off........Must-watch-closely.:D

I LIKE doing this. I'm kinda excited! A wife who likes to shoot as much as me. AND, is as "persnickety" about "HER" firearms as I am about MINE. Suddenly, I feel very lucky.:)
(You should see her at night [but ya' can't].) Walking around in her PJ's with a Ruger stainless .22 mag sixgun in a "Texas Gunslnger" cowboy holster. NOW, that is sexy!

Maybe there is.....Oh, Never Mind:D
