Heavy Castcore Lead Rounds and a S&W Mod 57 Mountain Gun

Would it damage my 41 mag S&W Mountain Gun if I was to shoot a limited number of Federal and Buffalo Bore castcore heavy lead rounds?

The Federal Castcore load is a lower intensity, lower velocity round than are the Buffalo Bore heavy 41 mag loads. Neither in limited amounts should do any harm to your Mountain Gun, but recoil, especially with the BB load, could be substantial. I also have a 41 mag Mountain Gun, but have yet to fire it. I have bought some of the Federal 250 grain Castcores with the intention to use them in it at times, along with several of the standard 210 grain loads.

The key word here is "limited". It is safe and it won't blow up but those loads will shorten its service life.

.44 mtn

My .44 mag mtn revolver is downright unpleasant with all up loads and I never load and shoot it that way.

I'm betting a .41 would be more of the same. Not dangerous, but hard on the shooter and accelerates wear on the revolver.
