Heavy .22 mag

There a couple 45 grainers too. An FTX by Hornady and a Winchester copper plated HP DynaPoint. CCI's .22 Mag shot shell is 52 grains too. Shot doesn't work well out of rifled barrels though.
The bullet weight doesn't matter if your rifle doesn't shoot 'em well.

Factory ammo?... 50 gr in the 'reasonably accessible' category. 62 gr in the 'specialty, rare, and expensive' category. (Aguila, I think it was?...)

Outside of factory ammo, I've personally fired 52 gr Speer HPs, 53 gr Barnes TSX-FBs, and 55 gr FMJs on the 'heavy' end. I know of a few people that launched 77 gr SMKs.
But seating bullets into a charged case, with the primer, itself, taking all of the seating force, is a sketchy process. I gave up my own experimentation after I had one pop in the seating die.

My personal preference is for 45 gr bullets (ArmsCor in particular). It's a nice, happy medium for how I use my rifle and what my rifle likes.
Though, I do occasionally run some of the Winchester Supreme 30 gr and/or 34 gr HPs for ground squirrel eradication. Those projectiles are explosive and brutal when they connect.

I usually don't pay attention to weight when purchasing 22 Mags. Although type is most important to me. As long as I'm buying Hollow Points I'm golden . Reason for ignoring: There are not that many available brands where I buy such ammo.
