heavy 22 cal trigger pull

I know rim fire 22 cal revolvers have to have a heavier trigger pull than center fire revolvers but is there a good quality SA/DA revolver out there with a DA pull lighter than 11-12 lbs and is still reliable? I'd prefer a gun with a 2" to 3" barrel and less than 20 oz weight.

Less than 11# shouldn't be a problem on a S&W J-frame. I think the breaking point is probably about 9#. A good smith might be able to go to 8# on a k-frame.

My experience with Rugers is not very extensive. I've a friend with a SP101. He put lightened springs in it, but it still feels like it is at least 10#. A smith would do better.

Centerfire cartridges have an external primer which is easier to set off than the internal primer of a rimfire shell. Thus requiring a lighter strike.

Forget about the alloy framed rimfires. They have the stiffest triggers of all. Even the steel SP-101 has a super heavy trigger. The M63 3" 8-shot stainless J-frame *might* do better, but I have no experience with that model and it's over 25-oz.

The K-frame rimfires had wonderful triggers, but they are over 30-oz. The M617 is close to 40-oz.

One suggestion would be to look at the Ruger LCR-22. The trigger isn't as smooth as the centerfire LCRs, but it's pretty decent. It has a different feel to it that didn't really appeal to me, but others like it.

Finally, an older 2" M34 would fill all the requirements. They made then in blue and nickle, with 2" or 4" barrels.

The trigger pull weight isn't quite as important as the smoothness, especially for a rimfire.
Rimfires do need enough oomph to reliably set off the rounds.
A slick trigger action will more than offset the weight.
