Heat Shield 870

When I am out shooting clays, my barrel seams to get so hot I can't touch it. Would a heat shield solve this problem? It gets really irritating when I want to set it down, but the barrel it so hot its difficult to even do that. Any recommendations on heat shields, and could you tell me some general information about them. Thank you in advance for your help with this, I know this might be a dumb question but what better place to ask.

when I used to be in the army, We would go to the range, shoot M16 at little targets on a mountain, these things pop up and down and go around and around.

I would shoot many rounds, then the barrel gets real hot. OUCH.

the heat shield helps, but you really gotta let it cool before you handle it.
