Citizens for True Democracy


watching CNN tonight. Here's the scoop: they did a story which
profiled a
21 year-old kid who has put together a website called "Citizens for True

Democracy" http://www.truedemocracy.org that encourages citizens to
write,
phone or e-mail Bush electors telling them to vote for Al Gore. This
site
gives names, addresses, phone numbers and sometimes e-mail addresses for

electors in states where there is no penalty under the law for electors
who
"defect".

I STRONGLY encourage everyone to make contact with as many of these
Republican Electors in these 18 states (two of which are Florida and
Tennessee-- which for some reason appear in BOLD print and CAPITAL
LETTERS on
this web site) and let them know that DESPITE any ill feelings that the
country might have toward the concept of the Electoral College, that to
change the rules at this stage of the game is NOT APPROPRIATE!! Let them
know
that you support their decision to vote for George W. Bush!

Remember only 2 electors need to defect for this to go to Congress!

I been thinkin that since many of the electors are probably being overwhelmed with demo mail and email......I put "Please vote for Bush/Cheney" in the subject line and on the outside of snail mail envelopes. That way if they are doin deletes before readin at least they were exposed to the message.

This electoral coercion bit has been botherin me since the polls closed.
