'NRA CONVENTION SPURS ANTI-VIOLENCE EVENTS'
So reported The Charlotte Observer on Thursday. As GRNC predicted, gun control advocates are planning a series of 15 events to protest the NRA convention next weekend in Charlotte. Using a recently created "organization" called the "Charlotte Coalition to Stop Gun Violence," anti-gun advocates will conduct a series of art performances and panel discussions, leading up to a silent vigil and "peace march." They are also expected to produce a truckload of shoes representing victims of gun violence.
Continuing the theme begun by Handgun Control, Inc., the coalition claims not to oppose gun ownership. Said organizer Herm Ziegler, "We want to stop gun violence. Who could object to stopping gun violence?" However, the coalition has been endorsed by North Carolinians Against Gun Violence, HCI, the Silent March, and other gun control organizations. "Anti-violence" efforts are being touted by a variety of newspapers and television stations.
ATTEND GUN RIGHTS SOLIDARITY MARCH!
This is your opportunity to deny victim disarmament groups the monopoly of the national media spotlight they enjoyed at last year's NRA convention in Denver. As outlined in previous alerts, GRNC will hold a Gun Rights Solidarity March from 1st Ward Park (6th St. East and McDowell St.) to the convention center in 3 waves scheduled for 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:00 AM. Speakers include former NRA vice president Neal Knox and Libertarian candidate for Governor Barbara Howe. We cannot overemphasize that we MUST outnumber gun control groups to neutralize their impact on the national media.
