i just purchased a sling mount for my ar from daniel defense that fits it right behind the backplate, so i need to take off the butt stock/buffer tube to slip this sucker on.
problem is, holy CRAP the castle nut is REALLLLY on there. i have a little tool for it, but man, im cranking that thing as hard as i can with sweat dripping off my brow and it wont budge. in fact the tool seems to be scuffing the threading on the tube a bit.
do i just need to really lodge the receiver in a vise and crank the tool and it just finally gives?
is it possibly loc-tighted? (its a Stag model 2, btw) do i need to heat it a bit?
or is there some other issue i'm completely ignorant of?
