Okay, I live in northern Va, but I go to school 6 hours away and I hadn't heard about this MMM until today. I was wondering what kind of counter-protests are going on other than the AIMM one. Anyone know? My only objection is that I'm not a mom or a woman and I don't know if my participation would be appropriate. I checked up on their site today and it looks like they've got things pretty much taken care of. Anyway, let me know if anyone else is gonna be there.

tackdriver,

I think your participation at the AIMM would be just as important and appreciated as anyone else's.

I think CindyH is talking about Armed Informed Mothers March, Hardball, they are the group that counteract the Oprah crowd.

Tackdriver,
Six hours from NOVA, are you talking about Va Tech? I'm going to Tech and if you are too and we'll have to get together and throw lead downrange.

Tackdriver,

Yes. You are more than welcome to attend the AIMM rally. they need all the support they can get. My wife is the Ohio coodinator for the SAS (Second Amendment Sisters--the group behind the AIMM rally). It is difficult to get people motivated enough to stand up for their rights by going the one step further and actually doing something like attending a march or rally rather than just talking about it (or posting about it).

Any support is welcome! Just be on your best behavior, and dress appropriately. Please, no camo or any t-shirts with questionable artwork or slogans. We want to give a good impression. The national media is going to be there, looking for 'bubbas' to spotlight as extremists.

Remember, just because you are not paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you!

damn! Does this mean I'll have to leave my can of Kodiak and my 100% Redneck hat at home!? Just kidding of course. I went back and read the SAS faq and it says to come on out. I'll be there, the guy wearing the american flag on his head and the t-shirt that says, "What part of 'shall not be abridged' don't you understand?"
Trust me, being a member of the NoVa media, I'll be on my best behavior. I start a new job at a local paper the next day.
