As unfortunate as the reported event is, this particular forum is not the right place for it, nor is the format appropriate. This is a "drive-by" if I have ever seen one.

Sorry if this isn't the right place. A moderator may delete the thread if it is inappropriate. I thought it was appropriate for general discussion because it has relevance/bearing on the subject of CCW. I don't know what you mean by "format" not being appropriate.

I agree that it is of the "drive-by" nature. It's just that from what I've read, something like 0.6% of all CCW permit holders ever commit a crime with their handgun. It's a little surprising to me, to run across this piece of news. The whole "I'm not going to worry about things that don't happen" statement comes into discussion here as well.

Again, I apologize if the post was inappropriate. I don't want to cause any trouble and my intent was not ill. I just thought it may make for some interesting discussion.

Take it over to the VPC. They keep a running tally over there and publish every shoot by CHLs until/ unless the CHL is cleared and then it "mysteriously disappears".

I think they were up to almost a hundred in the last three years. That accounts for about 0.1% of all murders in the last three years. Still they love to revel in it when someone goes off the rails.

I am attending a CCW class on the 20th of this month and legal or illegal people will do what they are going to do and they must answer for doing so. It is because of those people "permitted or not" that I am arming myself legally.

I agree. Hey guys, ...I was just bored, snowed in, and looking for conversation when I posted this. I'm new to the gun and CCW world so I didn't realize it was such a sore subject. I've asked a moderator to delete the thread because it's obvious that no one really wants to have a discussion about it and it wasn't well received. Sorry for posting it. I was just surprised by a 70 year old lady with a permit doing such a thing. It's very odd to me.

I'm closing this at the request of the OP, but not deleting it.

This was not a "drive-by" posting. A drive-by would have been a link with no opinion stated or discussion started; and it is in the right forum as this is the correct forum for general CCW topics. (Legal issues would go in the L&CR forum.)
