Have you seen this?

Sam, I liked your post over there... I agree about the privacy aspect, and I USED to know what freq that danged tone was, and I just cant remember! As for computer privacy, PGP is about as good as it gets... just make sure that you store your "keyring" on a floppy disk that you keep with you, rather than on your puter.

After seeing some of the posts, I have mixed feelings about bringing this site to your attention. I hope it becomes more sensible. At the moment, civil it is not. Oh, well...

It's 2,600 Hz. (That's where the hacker group "2600" got its name. Originally they hacked the phone system by generating the tone at pay phones to get free calls.)

Be wary of strong drink, for it can make you shoot at tax collectors...and miss.

Actually, 2600 hertz is a cutoff tone, it will chop off the call in progress. The monitor tone is a different freq....

I went, I saw, I was underwhelmed. Not worth the trouble of registering, IMHO. The free speech forum has two posts, which is natural for a new forum, but by far the most popular one is one where the idiot in question did nothing but type obscenities--no expression, no meaning, no relevance to free expression. Just mindless obscenity for the fun of it. No thanks.

Then, over in the gun section, somebody wanted to start up the old 9mm vs. 45 debate (I've only been shooting handguns less than a year and I'm already tired of it) and was rewarded with posts consisting of at least 50% exclamation points. "The badass of them all, the NAVY SEALS, use the .45 for the up-close work!!!!!!!!!!!!!" one military expert opined. Another chimed in "Any limp-wristed faggot can shoot a 9mm!!! It takes a real man to master a REAL fighting caliber like the 45." That's great, Bubba. Now I'm almost embarassed to say I prefer the .45 myself.
