Have you open carried recently?

The cops are so uptight here (and don't know the law) so I don't dare, even though it's technically legal if the gun doesn't have one in the chamber. Should I just move to Arizona if I want to open carry?

I live in AZ and I think nothing of walking into most any store with my .44 mag in a shoulder holster and have never had a thing said.
I carry it when I go out prospecting as we have cougers out there and I ran into one last month and did not have my pistol with me....glad he wasn't hungry.
I love Arizona

Sure have. Went to Jiffy Lube recently, pulled in and locked it up, went in to ask how long, the girls was already out trying to get into it to drive it in. I went out to unlock it and said I need to get something out of it and pulled my DH from its mounted holster inside and slipped it in my waistband. She just smiled and said yeah, ya wanna keep that with ya.

Most people are cool like that here in CO.

I would never do it normally just for the fact that someone out there will see it and they will call the cops. A hassle I don't feel like dealing with.

Did it one time, and had the cops called on me. They asked to see my driver's license (I look very much like I'm younger than 19), and, on seeing that I was indeed old enough to posess the handgun, apologized and left.

Here in GA the only thing us cops will ever say is "Cool gun." unless you just have a really terrible holsters setup or something. I've told people before to use a better setup if they can, a nylon generic holster that has one small hook and is dangling from your swim trunk pocket is probably not very safe. The guy thanked me, we talked for a while, even wrote down some holster recommendations for him, and he was on his way.

I've never heard a call out here where anyone dialed 911 due to someone open carrying.

Post deleted. I don't pay much attention to signatures but after I read the thread opener's I realized my ignore list was one short. Sorry guys.

I do it every great once in a while in town. Out in the woods, all the time.

At least we all know where you stand politically...

I may start using the ignore button now.

I will go even farther,

The people on TFL are generally not amused by Hitler references from either side.

Anyone who would make this kind of statement is immediately dubbed dead in my book. Any sounds I may hear from them are leaves rustling on a fall day.

Hmmm, 5 whiners who have some mysterious disagreement with my signature, yet they're such big men they won't reveal what it is. I like how they basically admit that they prefer to have their fingers in their ears while yelling "lalalalala" instead of actually responding in substance to what they claim to have some mystery disagreement with. The funny part is these 5 didn't have to mention their mystery disagreement at all. They mention it and then run away as fast as they can. All class. I was taught that if I disagreed with someone, to face them like a man and TELL THEM where they are wrong or keep my mouth shut. Clearly, such honor is LOST on some people.

Where's "here," GWB?
Utah, where "two mechanical actions" to fire means it's "unloaded" and technically legal to carry openly. I wouldn't try it though because women (and some "men" here) walk around with 911 on speed dial on their little cell phones. This plus the fact that I've met several cops who look and behave like the Hulk on steroids. People don't question government here, so cops routinely get away with shooting unarmed people. I can only imagine what these testosterone bags would do to someone carrying openly.

Enough.

Reading comprehension levels in this country seem to have fallen to an abysmal low, judging by the number of people who fail to understand a simple written phrase like "no personal attacks".
