Have you Found True Love?

Or are you still looking? For that one true perfect gun that is the answer to all others. The one that has truely stolen your heart.

I ask this because I think I'm in love. I just traded my Colt 1991a1 in for a Compact of the same model. I was looking for a better carry than my full frame and my Tomcat or NAA mini. I was reckless and jumped in with out much thought. (I had just stopped in for ammo on my way to the Desert.)

Out on the range, It was love at first shot, my worry of a sharper recoil was put to rest and the hole that appeared right at my point of aim brought a smile to my face. This gun might be everything I've ever wanted in a firearm. By the time I was moving though the multiple targets we had set up. ( 8 Targets, from 1 yard to 20, shoot and move) I knew I was done.

So now I want to buy her things, I'm probably going to wind up spending my next paycheck on holsters and another 7-round magazine. After that, maybe new grips.

Anyone wanna by a Tomcat?

This is similar to FUD's question... I answered my Savage 99 rifle to that one, but since this is the handguns forum, I'll keep it on topic... :)

Yes, I HAVE found my true love...

It's called the Smith & Wesson Model 19.

Beware the man with the S&W .357 Mag.
Chances are he knows how to use it.

Yes, for me a full size 1911 Government model from Colt, SA or Kimber. Currently its a Kimber Target model. I have tried pretty much everything in last 15 years but I have yet to find anything better overall. My current Kimber Target model is used for CCW, hiking/camping, target, IDPA, IPSC, Pin, HD, etc. I have other handguns for "specialized" purposes but 1911 Government model does it all pretty damn well.

It's the Glock 9mms for me.

I have one of each and they are most excellent.

I must confess that I do sometimes take pity on, and give attention to, Glock's ugly kid sister, the Kahr in 9mm.

Colt CCO customized with 30 lpi checkering front strap and mainspring housing, stag grips, serations along the top of the slide and back of the slide, Ashley Big Dot tritium express sights, polished stainless slide, black alloy frame, trigger and reliablity job carried in a carved paddle holster from Mernickle with a mag pouch/light pouch (carved) carried on the off side.

An guy I know let me shoot his MP5 at the pistol range I belong to. She was made back in the 80's and looks new. I shot her in burst mode and enjoyed every short bit of it as I fired only one magazine full.

The head LEO in the town I live in won't sign one of those forms you need to get a permit for one of these things so its semi-auto only for me. I may get to shoot the little MP5 on occasion but for the most part I will remain Down in the Boondocks as she is out of my league. :(

. . . yeah, and some guys lose their heads over the tawdry little tart on the corner too . . .

I've bought other guns since I got my stainless Kimber Gold Match two years ago, but it seems that's the only gun I ever take to the range. The others just sit. The guys at the range keep ribbing me, especially since I'm not a really good shot. "Why don't you bring out your revolvers?" they ask.

I don't know, and I don't care.

My Sig 226 in 9mm.

Two-Tone: nickel slide and controls with black frame and grips, w/ Factory Nite-Sites.

Own many Factory Full-Capacity mags for it as well as 2 Factory 20 Rounders...

use it for ON DUTY carry and as night-time bedstand protection.

Probably not the BEST for others, But my heart goes "pitter-patter" everytime I SADDLE UP and go into harms way...
No doubts about its reliability or effectiveness, and we all know that Piece of Mind is PRICELESS!
