"Haunted" gun show

Went to small gun show this weekend. Heard this strange voice: 'take me home!'. Kept looking till I found out what it was. T'was a Colt Officers model .45 series 80. Just HAD to rescue it!

Got it home: Shoots exactly to point of aim, very accurate and ate everything I fed it! Love the lil gun!

Excellent shape with some bluing wear. Serial # is FA26XXX. Could somebody give me a ball park value range for the gun? (Don't worry, I ain't gonna feel bad cause I just HAD to have it anyway!) And, could somebody give me an approximate age for the gun?

Thanks for any info. How many of you sometimes hear one 'calling your name'like that???

Umm, it wasn't a nickel Colt Commander model, was it?

I wonder what ever happened to that stupid television show "Gun". I'm guess it went belly-up as it deserved.

Anyway, I'm happy you got yourself a good shooter. ;)

If you intend to shoot it a lot, replace the barrel bushing with a stronger one and replace the guide rod setup with a full-length aftermarket setup (requires slight slide modifications). Those two areas on the stock Officers ACP aren't very durable.

Ball park value? According to the BB, it is around $350 to $450 depending on condition. Could be more if in superb condition or some meaningful smithing has been performed on it.
