Hats Off to a LEO

Saw the news last night a family's home burnt almost to the ground.
As sad as this is there is a bright side. A policeman on his way home saw the house burning. Disregarding his safety he broke down the door and helped save the father, mother-in-law and three children. Although this is a great loss to the family the dad standing in front of what was left of his home stated he owed the lives of himself and his family to the policeman.

Above and beyond the call of duty.

Cops/LEOs/Flatfoots/Gumshoes/etc. They are GOOD GUYS and on our side.
This instance should not be a surprise.
We just quite often hear of the bad apples that spoil the bunch.
I am not surprised to hear this at all.
Funny - most of the times you hear about things like this - the Officer was OFF DUTY!
Think about THAT for a second.

George said it all!
I am not surprised to hear this either.
As George said....most of them are the best!

Hats off to my Chief... :)

In a similar scenario, although on duty, he once beat the FD to a residential fire and went into the burning mobile home to retrieve three children that were trapped. His polyester uniform shirt and pants were melted to his skin in places and his hair was melted in places but he got all the kids out...ALIVE. Also, there's no doubt in my mind that he'd do it again today if need be.

My hat is off to anyone, LE or otherwise, who risks their own life to help others. They are truly heros.
