Hatcher's Book of the Garand - Warning Order

I don't know where to put this but I'd like others to know.

Used this book has been going for $100-300 depending on condition.

BUT: It's being re-printed. It will be released April 16th. Amazon is taking pre-orders. $24.99 for the Hard cover.

If you know General Hatcher this is a no brainer. If you don't you need to check it out, a must have for Garand owners.

If you are serious about guns and ballistics you already have Hatcher's Notebook.

I have (with the addition of this order) all but one of his books.

I think the only one I don't have is his Pistols and Revolvers and Their Use, 1935.
 
It's a great book...it gives a lot of insight into some of the design features of the Garand. Excellent technical writing.

I got mine for $2 at a library sell-off. It was in with the books about shellfish!:confused:
 
Hatcher's Notebook is a very fine set of essays on many different subjects and answers questions you may have had over the years.

(Such as : what would happen if I fired a rifle into a case of ammunition?)
 
I bought mine about 6 years ago. Was glad to know my 1903 M1 had the proper heat treatment! Recomended reading for any firearm enthusiast/collector.
 
Thanks for the heads up. My father gave me a Garand a couple of years ago. I'll be looking for the reprint when it comes out.

Ummm, you are talking two different guns, the Springfield 1903 and the M1 Garand. Early springfields had the problem, not the M1s.
 
Wow, I've been sitting on a goldmine and didn't realize it. I bought my copy at a gun show a couple of months after I bought my Garand. It was either '77 or '78. It is an invaluable book for anyone who has an M1 Garand.
