Has the taurus millenium gotten any better?

I did a search, and read some previous posts about the millenium's. the PT-111 and 140 specifically. All but one said they sucked. But these posts were about 5 months old, so I wondered did anyone buy one recently, and what did they think of it?

The gun itself isn't too bad; kind of like a Kel-Tec with higher levels of fit and finish. The trigger, however, remains as it was. I once heard the Millenium's trigger pull described as "trying to drag a piano across a gravel road with your trigger finger". I think that sums it up nicely... For a "belly gun" it's adequate, and it'll keep them in the "ouch!" zone out to 15 yards. Just don't plan on a relaxing afternoon of shooting tight 25 yard groups with that heinous trigger...

I don't know. It got a pretty good write up in this months Rifleman. However, a generous contribution from Taurus may have had something to do with it. ;) The last I saw, they were still a bear to put together after field stripping. The article even said that Taurus left a step out of the instructions that were printed in the manual.

I've posted a number of times concerning the problems I had with my PT-111. The trigger broke on mine within the first 60 rounds. It took Taurus a month and a half to fix it. I've read an review within the last few months in which the authors PT broke in a similar way. I would be concerned about this if considering the another one for purchase. Taurus claimed that this was not a problem area, but I wonder. As far as fit and finish go I was very surprised to find the fit and finish on my new Kel-Tec P-11 to be better than that on my Taurus. My Taurus had several noticable cosmetic flaws on the slide around the ejection port. The Taurus was the better looking gun though. After my PT-111 started having ejection problems I sent it back to Taurus for another month and a half and sold it upon its return. That said it never failed to fire. It fed everything and I didn't need to do a fluff and buff. My Kel-Tec has fed everything since I've polished the feed ramp, but I've only put 100 rounds through it since doing so.

I have been lucky. My PT111 has been flawless for the two years I have owned it. It doesn't have the greatest trigger but the PT111 is a great carry piece and combat accurate. Regards, Richard

pt111 still functioning!

While I will admit that the trigger pull leaves a lot to be desired, for a defensive weapon, mine has performed well. It shoots any factory ammo I have fed it including Hydrashocks and has yet to fail. It is also easy to conceal. Mine is about 2 years old now.

One more thing, I have never had any problems stripping, cleaning and reassembling mine. I definitely prefer the trigger on my S&W 5906 but it doesn't hide as well when I am wearing dress clothes at work!

no more DAO or striker fire triggers for me.they all suck.glocks are about the only ones that are just O.K.
ive had a sigma and have tryed the milliniums, keltecs they all just suck hard.:barf: :barf:
