Has anyone used Extreme Shock Enhanced Penetration ammo?

Just curious. I know these are designed to penetrate better than the Air Freedom variety. Just wondering if anyone has tried them. Thanks.

Have you checked out the Glaser Safety Slug? It has a Blue or Silver option.
Glaser Blue - Filled with #12 shot.
Glaser Silver - Filled with #6 shot

Why don't you do a search for your answers?
You will find enough info to answer any Q's and things you should know about that company and their "product".

ammo

I would go for the Glaser ammo but you will not get as deep penetration as a full metal jacket, how ever you will get a bigger internal wound channel /shock factor.

Mike U,

I did a search and found nothing regarding the new "Enhanced Penetration" rounds. Thus my post. Thanks.

Well Deegle, the general consensus is the Extreme Shock is just a marketing ploy to separate people from their money for which in return they get a product that doesn't meet the promises made and hasn't met them across the board so far.

So why should the "enhanced" version be any better?

However, I see the new wording has intrigued you....hence the notion of the company endeavoring in market ploys...

I've seen ballistic block tests and they underpenetrate by a lot. I won't be buying any any time soon.
Good luck!

Ever notice that their claimed "ability to penetrate heavy skin, dense bone, and then fragment once inside the softer tissue of the target" sounds an awful lot like the "penetrate body armor and then explode" hysteria the media dreamed up around the Black Talon?

It wasn't a likely idea then, and it's not a likely idea now.

Given Extreme Shock's track record, the "enhanced penetration" probably refers to what the company is trying to do to their customers' wallets.

These guys use it, it must be top notch!

My apologies, Deegle.

As you see in the other's posts, the company has a less than steller rep across the boards.
I think the only place you'd find general approval of Extreme Shock's products would be on a mall ninja board or perhaps a forum for the Retail Outlet Tactical Security Forces Union.

I can give you the summation of my experience with frangible ammo.

I wouldn't use it on anything bigger than a Cocker Spaniel.

No problem Mike U. I've never used the stuff, and the idea is attractive, as I have kids and live in a town house. That's why I asked about it. A better option for me may be a 12 gauge with #4 shot. An 870 with an 18 inch barrel is on my Christmas list.

If it is so expensive that you cannot afford to test fire it, and it is made by "master blaster ammo and party favor company" that you never heard of, best hold onto that money until you see actual unbiased test results. Stick to something with a track record whether or not it is this months latest breakthru ammo. That photo ad with all the flash bang and play ninjas looks like an ad for a toy to me.

Deegle,
I see you didn't mention a particular caliber, so here are the most popular calibers and the rounds that have been shown to be viable ammunition in those calibers.
These rounds all showed sufficient penetration and expansion in ballistic gel.

Hope it helps. :)

i haven't heard of a single police dept. or federal agency using them. that speaks volumes to me about their effectiveness.

expansion hurts but penetration kills!

Extreme shock = shock at the sticker price.
Enhanced penetration = into your wallet!
It is fanboy, mall ninja garage. Don't waste your time or money.
The packaging alone should tip you off that it is BS.

Never again

I tried some of thier .32acp, shooting into a milk jug backed with a phonebook. I was using my naa guardian. It was pathetic, There was no expansion to speak of. It barely made it through the jug, and there was just a dent in the phonebook. The bullet looks like it could be loaded and shot again. The fmj and other hp's I was using (corbon, winchester, federal, fiocci) all performed way better. The hollow points expanded very little, but still deformed. If anybody uses a short barreled .32acp, save your money and buy fmj or hp's, not EXTREME SHOCK!
