Has anyone tried Nitesiters on their carry gun?

I'm retired with a fixed income and can't afford the cost of tritium sights, especially with how much costs have climbed recently.
Have any of you tried these Nitesiter Photo Luminescent Dots on your sights? I can afford the $9.98, and I wouldn't have a problem charging them up before I go out at night.

Mas,

I was looking into these as well for my ccw/hd gun, if you go to tuarusarmed.net they have a great writeup on these with pictures. I will be ordering mine in the next few weeks and I will let you know my opinion.

Thank you, guys! I appreciate it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get that Taurus Armed link to work.

EDIT: I finally got to the Taurus Armed site. Thanks again!

Great if charged

I have the nitesiters on my .40 M&P and they work great... if you can charge them. they are very bright in the dark and fit right in the white dots on your existing sights. Just a quick blast from an LED flashlight and they will glow for a while or if you can charge them in the sun during the day they glow most of the night.

I could not afford night sights, laid off for the winter so I tried the nitesiters they come with enough dots to do a couple of pistols. Overall I am happy with them for what they are.

I have them on my Sig, and a couple of other guns. I was going to change the sights on my Sig for Trijicon but I shoot that gun so well as is I was very reluctant to do anything with the sights so I went with the Night Siters over the strait 8 sights on my Sig and they work great for me. I keep an LED flashlight at the head of me bed and lay the gun down with the flashlight turned onto the sights while I am getting ready for bed (about 5 minutes) and they are still glowing when I get up in the morning. They are a great inexpensive alternative to tritium but keep an LED light handy.

They don't work that well for me.
My gun lives inside the pocket and I'm nocturnal.
I need the power of tritium!!

I'm not so convinced of the need for glowing sights that I'd bother, I have many gins with tritium but don't knwo if I will re-lamp them when they are dead. Don't know if I'd bother, esp given the need to "charge them" and the fact that I rarely store a weapon where light can get to the sights....

I got them

I put a set on my 1911 truck gun. You have to charge them with an LED but they work great. I like them and for the price you can't beat it.

I agree...I don't think night sights are that important. I've shot a good bit in lots of types of lighting and I found that if I can see the target well enough to indentify it and shoot it, then I can see my sights well enough to use them. Even in pitch black...using a hand-held or weapon mounted light to light up a target provides enough ambient light to see non-night sights.

I tend to agree, I think night sights are overrated. If it is dark enough to see the sights it is too dark to identify the target and if you use a light to identify the target you can't see the sights. The nite siters are nice for replacing painted dots so you don't have to paint again and their ability to glow is a plus.

nitesiters

I have been using nitesiters in the field on my 1911 for a couple years now and highly reccommend them ! A quick flash of a UV led torch (only a few seconds lasts all night ) is the best and fastest way to get them glowing brightly. I do a lot of low light and full darknes shooting and have put many hundrds of rounds through the gun and I find nitesiters an absolute must have item for low/no light conditions. Coupled with my M6 light theyre worth every cent! I now use them on all my handguns and even my tactical shotgun. If you have any doubts about trying them, please dont! heyre everything the inventor claims!
