Has anyone received their free M&P mags from S&W yet?

I found out about the promo from one of the threads in this forum and watched/waited for the prices to fluctuate to my liking. I then pulled the trigger on the 45c followed soon by the 45 mid. I immediately put in for the 3 free mags for each and have been waiting. Has anyone else taken advantage of this promo and received their mags? Trying to get an idea of the real world wait time. Thanks.

These things are usually handled by third parties hired to handle the grunt work...

Sig did this last year, it took a little over 2 months to get the mags. (maybe three months)

I got my free magazines from Springfield in 5 weeks, which I thought was pretty fast. You just never know with these things. Good luck, though!

Historically, like pretty much any other rebate or "Free with purchase" promo, things can take quite a while to get to your door.

I did the rebate with the M&P 40 I bought a couple weeks ago and have not received them yet, but I do not expect them for at least two months. I have yet to go through a rebate program that took less than that.

When I sent in the 6 boxtops for my secret decoder ring back in the 60s they stated 4-6 weeks but it came in 2. Just optimistic, I guess. Thanks for the replies.

When I sent in for my free mags for the M&P 9 I bought back in the Fall it took about 10 weeks to receive them from the time S&W received the rebate form.

I sent in my form at the end of may, it is now the start of September, and still nothing.

The guy at the rebate company, Ryan, I have talked to a few times seems incredibly annoyed when I call to get a status update. I have called once every other week since 8 weeks passed. He told me they'll get to me when they get to me and there is nothing I can do about it, or will be done to meet the deadline they set for the promotion.

I called S&W, and they claim they have NO, NONE, ZERO 9mm magazines. I am not kidding. He said whenever they eventually get built, of which there is no timeline, they'll send them out. There will be no additional compensation or expedited shipping for not meeting the terms of the rebate.

What GREAT customer service all around.

I have owned many S&W firearms, and have had to send guns back to be repaired new from the box. I was always treated with great customer service, and turnaround time was always less than 3 weeks.

But I guess since they already have my money, and there's no safety liability, screw me. Just keep sending out all the mags with the new guns, whenever we get to the people who already paid, we get to them.

I am pretty dissappointed.

The rebate company received my valid submission on May 15th, still have not received my magazines and S&W still unwilling to do anything about it.

One of my (many) firearms related wishes is that 3D printers get robust enough that they could 'print' you out a magazine.

The prices of magazines for almost all 'modern' guns makes my jaw drop. I realize this is because I remember going to gun shows many years ago and getting GI 1911 magazines for under a buck. I know those days are long, long past but still.

Really nothing should surprise me after finding out someone was selling the cardboard box a S&W came in for $1600. I don't actually believe this story but here's a link.

BigRed,

One thing I found about dealing with the folks at S&W is they treat you as you treat them. I have always been pleasant with them regardless of the issue I am calling about, and they have always responded in kind.

I read a lot of complaints online from people who suggest the S&W support staff treat them unkindly. I suspect it is a reciprocal demeanor. Just a thought.

On the subject of the promo, I had received my 45c mags back in July but still waiting on my 10-round mags for the midsize I bought around the same time. Called S&W yesterday, was pleasant, and was treated in kind. There was some kind of fiasco (not S&W's fault but the company they contracted to process the promotion) and they are now on the way.

We all get frustrated, but remember the old adage about honey and vinegar...

Frankly,

Could be. Or could be sometimes S&W drops the ball, ive contacted them twice, politely, once in reference to a PC 1911, and once in reference to these magazines.

Neither time have i been impressed at all.

Ruger, Dan Wesson, Trijicon, Kimber have all been very good, Glock ive never needed to contact.

Yes I have been courteous.

Called S&W today to get an update, was told they weren't prepared for how popular the promo would be.

They have already shipped 15,000 magazines, have 3,000 more to ship.

This was my third call. The first time I was told my order was processed in June, the second time, they said July, and today August.

Creeping up on 5 months now since purchase date.

I got my magazines in probably a couple months ago now. I'm thinking it was either the end of July or beginning of August.
