Why is it so hard to get the last round into my 10 round glock mags? I would think they could leave enough room in the darn things to fit all of the bullets. I've actually put dents in the brass trying to get the last round in. Anyone have an answer to this? Why so tight?

I think its probably because if they made mags where you could even possibly get 11 rounds in there with the aid of a hammer and blow torch. They would be guilty of a federal crime and get fined and imprisoned. :barf: So as to limit the chance of that occurance the mags are made ridiculously tight with 10 rounds but will eventually loosen after a breakin period to a tolerable tension. just my thoughts on it anyway.

The new magazines are no problem. Bought two recently and had no trouble at all. I gave up a long time ago trying to get 10 rounds in my old ones. Anyone want to buy some older Glock 10 rd magazines? Cheap?

I would completely disassemble and thoroughly clean the mag, especially if it is new. Lube lightly; you don't want to risk de-activating any primers with excess oil. Then load 'em up and store them that way for a few weeks. Even if you can load only nine rounds the spring will still relax somewhat, but best results come from loading to capacity.

A magazine speedloader such as those made by HKS will help you load that last round by increasing your leverage; it'll also save your thumb and reduce case damage by allowing you to fully depress that ninth round BEFORE inserting that last one. You might want to check the mag lips for roughness; lightly stone off any burrs you find.
