I apoligize if this has been posted somewhere but my searches have come up empty.
I read an article somewhere on the net that went something like this. Somewhere on the East Coast, possibaly Maryland, in a small town the National Guard or ATF went door to door asking home owners if they owned any firearms. If they did they were to turn them over on the spot, for some kind of inventory or registration. They could be picked up a day or two later at a designated spot.
I don't know if this is a hoax, or I'm loosing my mind, but I cold have sworn I read this somewhere. I have a friend who claims he's heard the same story.
Anyone else hear this?

Now here we have the mining man, in either hand a gun.
He is not afraid of anything, and he's never know a run,
He dearly loves his whiskey, and he dearly loves his beer.
He's a shooting, fighting, dynamiting, mining engineer.
