Has anyone ever removed the laser engraving from a S&W?

Or have you ever seen it done?

I am curious as to whether or not it can be bead blasted off the side of a S&W firearm (or any other firearm for that matter).

I am talking about doing it on a stainless gun of course.

I'm sure it can. I've seen pictures documenting the removal of the Ruger billboard with fine sandpaper. Looked great in the picture afterward.

Because it is ugly and it prevents you from putting a custom finish on the gun because it is not truly engraved.

It appears on the S&W revolvers, that the logo is not actually "engraved" into the surface. It is actually raised. You can lay a piece of paper on it and get a positive rubbing from it. I am curious as to how deep the coloring goes.. Anyone have a revolver to volunteer as a guinea pig?
