Has Anyone Been Called By A Gun Pollster??

I've been wondering about this for a while. Because, as you know, Americans, according to the lates polls, want more gun control. No one has ever asked my opinion.

I have never participated in a telephone interview or any other type of gun poll. Except, of course, the ones I get from all of the Pro Gun Organizations in the mail. Then they want me to contribute or renew.

How about anyone else? Have you ever been polled about guns?

Thanks,

Sgt.K

I've been polled about fast food and online vehicle shopping, but never about guns or politics.

I have been called by HCI for a poll, but I blew the opportunity. Instead of answering their questions, I hung up on them. As soon as I did, I cursed myself. It makes me wonder how many have done the same thing. We should always answer their polls or we are one of the reasons for their slanted polls.

Nope. I wonder how they figure the demographics for the surveys...

Nope again. I will pass up this opportunity to snipe at people by suggesting why they are chosen for the polls.

Never been polled.

My guess is that they keep asking the same people that say Clinton is doing a good job as a president. Even during the Lewinsky, Nuclear secret leaks, Whitewater, etc., his approval ratings were still pretty high. What a crock!

The only "polls" I have had a chance to answer have been "Are you interested in taking the Daily Reporter News Press Tribune Gazetter?"

I haven't been polled either. I wonder if anyone ever really was? They (HCI) do have a penchant for creating facts out of thin air.

I've been invited to participate in a gun/politics poll.

Here are a few sites to ponder...

There's things in there that ought to tighten the blowhole...

Here's my poll experience, which I think is kind of interesting. However, it doesn't pertain to guns and is therefore off-topic, if anyone would rather skip over it.

The U.S. Department of Education left a message on my home voicemail stating that they were conducting a "survey" and asking me to call them back. Well, this happened during the Clinton impeachment, when the Executive Branch was even lower in my esteem than usual. So I didn't return the call. After that, I'd go home and find multiple calls from the Department of Education on my Caller ID display. This lasted for weeks, then a couple of months.

Finally they called when I was at home. I told the caller flat out that I didn't want to participate. By golly, she stayed on the line and argued with me! She couldn't understand, she said, why anyone would refuse to let himself be "surveyed," since they were so "interested" in my responses! I finally told her, fine, I'll write my Congressman about your poll and you can talk to him. That ended the conversation fast! I haven't been called since.

Okay, I overreacted. But it was interesting that neither my ignoring the calls nor flatly refusing to participate affected the Gummint bureaucrats one bit until I played the Congress card. That's about the only thing my left-wing Representative ever did for me.

No and the odds aren't good. The typical poll uses a sample size of what, 1000 people or less?
A couple of years ago I was called by a local university group that does marketing surveys. I was killing time until my girlfriend showed up so I did it. Now I am a regular fixture on their phone list. Anyway, no gun survey yet, but every survey so far has had questions about recreation, hobbies, etc. I always work in an answer or two about target shooting and hunting. The reactions have varied from 'cool' to a full-blown hesitation stutter, but no put-downs or hang-ups. I guess they can't be mean to someone who has just been polite for 10-15 minutes and answered personal questions. I want them to know that I have a B.S., an M.S. and 25 yrs. on the job. I think we help our cause if we present ourselves as reasonable, average people who enjoy owning guns and aren't defensive about it. It is normal isnt't it? John

A few years ago I was called by a pollster at the Henry Ford Museum. They asked me what kind of displays I would like to see that would make me want to go there. I told them a display of classic machine guns and they hung up on me! Henry Ford was a communist anyway wasn't he?

Actually, Henry Ford was a Nazi. He had a picture of Adolph Hitler on his wall and Hitler had a picture of Henry Ford. (or so I am told by someone who had been in both of their offices.)

No but I did have a group come through my neighborhood and ask to "BUY BACK" my guns for $150.00 a piece. I sold them a BB gun that didn't work and when they gave me the forms to fill out, I filled in the comments section with a statement about how the $150.00 would go to help me in getting my MOSSBERG 500 ;)
Her daddy came back later demending the return of the money, (it was apparently privately funded), and I just showed him the buyback contract and the box on my table containing the MOSSY he had helped buy ;)

Secondly I would like to see a real poll. every one I have ever seen has it pro-gun usually about 70%-30%. I wrote a letter to CNN about a poll the had on their website the ended up nearly 80%-20% in favor of us. Their reply was that a server error had "ERASED THE DATA!"

I've never been polled on anything. All of my friends/relatives have never been polled. They don't know anyone who's ever been polled.
