REPLICA, ITALIAN MADE, BLACK POWDER, 6 SHOOTER, HAS GOT DATE STAMPED 1851, SUPPOSED THE REPLICA DATE, DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHEN THIS WEAPON WAS MADE? i'VE HAD IT SINCE THE 70's. IS THIS COLLECTABLE?

I think it was made in 1851 not reproduced. If thats when it was really made. If it was made in 1851 it is an original or near original and could be very valuable depending on it's condition!

:o It's a replical, if made in Italy ( Colt didn't have a factory in Italy :)) 1851 is the model { 1851 Navy .44 Caliber}. Had since the 70's, then there's a good chance thats when it was made. Goggle Navy Arms. EMF. Dixie Gun Works, etc; etc; Not really consided a collectible, more of a shooter

It is possible that the "1851" is the serial number. Italian proof marks include the date, but I am pretty sure that gun was not made in 1851 or even 1951.

A few replicas now have a modest collector value, but that gun would be considered a shooter.
