Harris Bipod Swivel Connection

Hello All,

I just got a Savage 12 Low Profile Varmiter and looking at the front swivel stud, I am a bit concerned about my ability to attach a bipod to it. The eyehole in the stud is very close to the stock.

Does anyone know how much clearance I need between the hole and the stock to mount a Harris Bipod?

How does the Harris Bipod connect? Does anyone have a close-up picture of the connector?

I'm looking at one of the 6-9" benchrest models.

Thanks.

You need .089 inches of clearance from the stock to the hole (less than a tenth of an inch). The bipod connector screws down studs from both sides into the sling stud and is very secure. The rifle sling stud in the picture is on a Savage.

Thank you both.

Adventurer 2, that's just information I was looking for. It looks like, if necessary, I could even file that .089 of an inch down without compromising the bipod. Hopefully I won't need to do that. It is going to be close. Thanks again, your post was extremely helpful.
