Can you please give me information on an H & R 16 gauge shotgun serial number A113557? The gun reads Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. Worcester, Mass. U.S.A. PAT. FEB 23 & 27 1900 on the side of the receiver and 16 GA CHOKE on the top of the 30" barrel. Is there any way for me to track model and production date from serial number. I need to purchase replacement stock and forearm. Thank you for you time and information.

H&R Shotgun

If your shotgun has a removable hinge pin (will have a "toggle head" and turn 1/2 turn to pull out) it is a Model 1900. But with the A prefix it is most likely a Model 1908 - which will disassemble by pulling the forestock off. There is, currently, no serial number to production date info available, although it is being worked on. Numrich/GPC (at www.e-gunparts.com) has replacement parts for both models - but you will need to contact them by e-mail (on the home page) or by phone to confirm. Good luck!

H&R

they have sold out several times lately and now are owned by marlin who is owned by Remington who is owned by Cerberus.
The guns were low cost.but good quality.

Olds,
Model 1908 - early 19 teens production - these show up as parts guns on the inter net auction sites fairly regularly - you may have better luck finding a complete gun - naahhh, then you have to ship to FFL, background check, etc, forget that. Anyway, you know what parts from which model to search for.
