How much are these revolvers whorth? My dad wants to sell his six inch 38S&W cal.Five shot capacity. I know these guns came out in the late 1800's.Any help please on value?

It depends on the model of which H&R made MANY.

Typically a .38 version would run "around" $95. to $150. for one in 100% condition.

In lesser condition, value drops FAST to as little as $30. for one in 60% condition.

The H&R revolvers were not quality guns to start with, and they have little value today.

Revolvers are really good in some years and the shotguns , oh god thoes things are wonderful but like anything it's not a SAA but a great piece of history. They are a good design and work great providing you use the corrt pressure loas depending on the year.but if it was their first or second run on the first model they can be quite valuble( you know first runs , special finishes/model , and TO A COLLECTOR!!!!" but all in all they are great shooters when taken care of and please if it is a EAIRLY model try to find out the pressure they used in that load back them. no reason to destroy a great gun.
and what was it he use to say on american shooter ,crap can't remember

A 6" in 38 S&W and blued with walnut or hard rubber grips should generically be worth $95.00. The box, target option or nickle plating can increase the value. I paid $85.00 for a nickle plated one without grips recently.
