hardest to rifle hunt

Probably the Hippo

Only because he's so inclined to kill you ;)

Seriously, it depends on what you mean by "challenging". Is the miniscule prarie dog your idea of "challenging"? Or by challenging do you mean bighorn sheep that live up there at altitudes where opening a can of soup leaves you breathless? I know some people who hunt pigs that love the thrill of exploding underbrush at 20 yards and having just that split second to make that critical shot. Is that what you consider challenging?

Personally, I'd say the prarie dog. Seems like the few times I've shot at those little buggers, the slightest breeze totally screwed up everything.

Crows.

TRY nailing the watch crow out of a flocks tree! they have very good eyesight and learn fast.

Crows are definitely tough to hunt! They truly are smart birds.
I agree with Payette Jack when he asks what do you mean by "challenging."

kgs.

if challenging refers to dangerous, i'm with payette...hippo and cape buffalo because they are just mean, polar bear because it will circle and stalk you.

hard to stalk would have to be the crow, you can't understand until you've tried it.

hard to bring down, this is 2nd hand from an old but very serious hunter, is the wolverine...don't laugh, they "carry away their wounded"
