Hard to get chamber to stay open . . .

The chamber on my Bersa Thunder won't lock open. Or if you do manage to get it to lock open the slightest bump and it closes. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need a gun smith?

First, understand that it's the slide that won't stay open. The chamber is inside the barrel at the breech end. It's where the bullet goes.

Make sure the slide stop is fully engaging the notch.

This is a common issue with these guns. Both myself and my GF went through this. The fix was to take to a Bersa factory authorized gunsmith and let them deal with it. The warranty on mine is lifetime to the original owner.
