Hard Hat Treatment On A Revolver

Specifically a 686 Plus. I tried contacting the company several months ago regarding the proposition but never received a response. I'm going to try again but, in the meantime, was wondering if anyone here has a semi-auto with the treatment and if they know of any reason it wouldn't work on a wheel gun.

I have a commander size Dan Wesson Bobtail (CBOB)that was hard hatted 7k or so rounds ago. Great finish. Only wear is a little on the slide stop latch area on slide and top of frame rails. Holster wear is minimal...frequent carry gun in a very humid climate.
Shortly after I got the pistol back I was trimming a piece of grip tape for the front stap and the utility knife slipped. I was sure that I had damaged the finish.....nope....what i saw was where some of the knife blade had rubbed off on the frame. Cleaned up real easy. Hard hard stuff...good finish....never seen it on a revo tho.
