Hard Chrome: Matte or Brushed?

I've got a pistol at the 'smith for service. After that I'm getting it chromed.

Aside from asthetics, which is better? Matte or brushed chrome?

I've heard that brushed is a bit slicker and may be a bit more corrosion resistant.

Any thoughts?
 
I THINK that the brushed Metalifed guns I had done in 70's have held up better that the bead blasted ones. Surface does not seem to visably "mar" like matte does.;)
 
i called Metalife on this today as I am thinking about having a rifle done. The brushed is a satin finish while the matte will be bead blasted. Metalife did a pistol for me a few years ago in the brushed finish and it was really nice. I don't care for the bead blasted look so I'll be going with the brushed finish again. Either should wear well, I would think its just the type of look you prefer.
