Hard Choice / First Glock

Some time ago I posted and ask about a Glock 27, Well yesterday I was at my local Gun Emporium to check out any new arrivals and relook the 27. My dealer now has a 33 in 357 Sig. brand new in the box for $519. The 27 was used which I didn't know, but is LNIB,It has the finger extension and the blank cover on the butt also has front night sight. He wants $449. for that one. That gun was hardly fired, still has the original lube from the factory in it. I understand that either pistol can be changed to the others caliber by just changing barrels. So which one should I get? We are only talking $70. difference. The used one only has one mag,the new one comes with two. Both are nice handguns and since I don't have any in the collection,I'm contemplating the purchase.
Your thoughts are appreciated :)

I think I'd get the used one if it really is like new. Glocks last longer than I will and that $70 will buy a lot of practice ammo.
Which, by the way, would not last long if you buy the 357 Sig. This is an expensive puppy to shoot. I think you will find that you will shoot the 40S&W round more, also.
I realize this is strictly a personal opinion, but I find neither to be especially fun to shoot 150 rounds through, but the 357 is even less so.
Replacement barrels for eith caliber will cost the same, so that part of the equation should not be an issue.

Thanks for the thoughts,I already own .40 and don't have the .357 sig. The shop owner showed me where the .357 ammo has come down in price to $10. per box of 50.
I am kind of leaning to the used one though :)

Well, for what its worth, I love my G33. If I get the urge for a G27, I'll just spring for a .40 cal barrel instead. .357SIG seems to be increasing in popularity, and ball ammo is beginning to get reasonable, even if there never will be 'el cheapo' surplus stuff for plinking. The G33 doesn't encourage 200+ round paper punching sessions anyway, really...

The big bang and jumbo muzzle blast get attention on the range, though...

Tamara, So if I bought the 27 I could also spring for a sig barrel? And since I know that you are involved in a gun shop,About how much does one of those cost? I am leaning towards the 27 since it has some of the goodies already with it :) Not being a Glock expert those two guns are just about two of the same ?
Thanks for your input :)

Older G27's don't have the reinforced frame, and are not recommended for conversion to .357SIG. Check www.glockmeister.com for details. Unless you're dead set on .357SIG, the difference between it and the good (135, 155, 165gr) .40 cal loads is miniscule, and .40 ammo is cheaper. I got my G33 because I already had a .40 cal G23C and just had the craving for something different when a used G33 showed up at our shop...

Tamara, Thanks for the advice,Will probably go after the used .40 since as I said prior it comes with some of the goodies already installed. I will talk to my local dealer about the barrel switching if I so desire.
I was thinking the Sig round because I have none in my collection and it is IMHO a unique
cartridge. :)

You can get CCI Blazer .357 Sig for $8 a box of 50 if you look around. That's what I'm currently paying. You can get a new G33 from D&R Sports in PA for $430 + $15 shipping. Screw the $519.
