I'm currently awaiting my CHL and trying to get all of the information I possibly can in order to carry responsibly. I saw a figure that the average cost for criminal/civil defense for even a clear-cut self defense shooting (if arrested, of course) is around $80,000. I'm going to be speaking to various lawyers to figure out ahead of time whom I will be calling if the need arises (God forbid), but what else do people do to prepare for the aftermath of a self defense shooting? Especially financially?
