Handled a Magnum Research (Ruger) 10/22 yesterday

though I wouldn't buy anything Ruger, this thing had a carbon fiber, braked barrel, and an ulta-light Hogue stock, and felt like holding a few feathers - a scope would weigh more than the rifle. Don't kow the exact weight.

Isn't the weight and balance incredible with the Hogue and the MRI barrel? I love my 10/22 with graphite barrel for plinking and small varmint control. It's a little light for benchrest though. The slightest movement or heartbeat moves it on the bags.

I have a BSA 6-24X scope on mine. Good .22 scope for the money. It's good for head shots on turtles out to 25-30 yards. I'm up to around 12 "confirmed" on those bait stealing pieces o' crap. :D

Now I want a 10/22 .22mag with a graphite barrel and maybe a laminated stock for a little added weight. My next rimfire project! :)
