handguns that use clips

I thought it would be interesting to make a list of relatively common handguns (both pistols and revolvers) that use clips. It shouldn't be very long.

I'm sure there are quite a few I'll miss, but here are a few off the top of my head:

M1917 revolver (.45 ACP)
Mauser broomhandle (various)
Steyr 1911 (9 steyr)
Roth-Steyr Model 1907 (8mm Roth-Steyr)
Smith & Wesson Model 940 revolver (9x19)
S&W Models 22, 25, 26, & 625 (.45ACP)
S&W Models 310 & 610 (10mm Auto / .40S&W)
S&W Model 646 (.40S&W)
Taurus 905 (9x19)
Taurus 3801BB (.380 acp)
Grendel P10 (.380 acp)
Bergman ( various)

I think ruger makes or used to make a revolver that used clips too. What are the other ones I'm missing?

the hammerelli uses magazines, not clips. I don't know of any .22 pistol, revolver, or rifle that uses clips.

Let's see how long before someone names a gun that uses a magazine and then makes a confused comment about how MOST guns use clips

The Russian MSP and S4M (both silenced two-shot derringers) use clips, because the cases are so hot after firing that that's the only way to get them out of the chambers.

Interesting gun and definitely qualifies as using a clip, but not exactly common

I stand corrected on the Hammerli, my memory failed me. Some S&W 45ACP revolvers can be used with moon clips. Jerry Miculek is the master loader with them.

How about some model names!

I don't have any handguns that use clips. but would like to get one some day. I'm leaning toward a M1917, but a ruger .357 with an interchangeable 9mm cylinder that uses moon clips would really be neat.

S&W Models 22, 25, 26, & 625 (.45ACP)
S&W Models 310 & 610 (10mm Auto / .40S&W)
S&W Model 646 (.40S&W)

The Model 22 is basically the same thing as the Model of 1917, and both the M25 and M625 have also been available in .45 Colt, but are usually .45ACP.

The 1896 Bergmann autos, 6.5mm most commonly, used en-bloc clips.
They went to a box magazine in the 1897 models.

Mannlicher 1900/1901, GI only in Argentina that I know of, used stripper clips.

The Webley Fosbery .38 High Velocity (.38 ACP) loaded with an 8-round "full moon" clip.

Multiple Spanish and Chinese copies of broomhandle Mauser loaded the same way.

The Wyatt-Imthurn Luger was top loaded but I don't think they bothered with clips, just loose rounds.

After that, I think you are getting into prototypes, prehistoric efforts and real rarities.
