HANDGUN VALUES GOING UP???

Like many on this board, I have a good size collection of handguns. Considering the anti-gun climate and the extraction from public sales of various handguns, do you feel that the values of these no longer available or soon to be unavailble handguns will rise in value? In my collection, I'm specifically thinking of my Colt Python Hunter set, H&K 45 Tactical and Browning Hi-Power. Is this wishful thinking or do these guns hold some investor value? I know, I know, we all love shooting them, which is why we purchased them in the first place, but I can't help but wonder. With my luck, instead of rising in value, they all will be confiscated. Am I off the mark or what? Sincerely, Twoinchgroup52.

I have pondered the same thing myself. Most folks are always posting about how the value of guns and high cap mags are going to skyrocket. But all this assumes that they don't either take our guns or force
even stiffer regulations on the number we can own or possession fees. If they start taking our guns, the value on the black market will definately go up. But we may be subject to the same jail time as drug dealers. I have no plans to get rid of my handguns, but I don't think I'll start buying large amounts of handguns for an investment.

Yes, IMO, the value of used handguns will go up because the value of new guns is going up (due to ever-increasing liability costs of the gun makers/distributors). Therefore the supply of handguns will begin to drop, therefore making all handguns more valuable. All this assumes the antis keep winning, which they won't if I have anything to say about it.

Firearms will always go up in or at least hold their value. The only time they don't is when an individual piece is mistreated.

As far the the government taking away your rights and guns, just never accept this proposition. These cowardly, socialist self-serving politicians need to be run out of town, and let's all vote to do it.

Best.

I'm sure you have heard the saying, and it's true-
"The only thing for certain is gun prices will go up and government regulation will increase."

two,

One thing in our favor when it comes to handguns and possible confiscation, is the sheer numbers that are out there, amongst the general population. And the fact that more appear every day.
So, if or when, it's going to take time to 'gather' them all up. And many of them will never be 'gathered'.
Not much of a comforting thought; but at least it's something...

Any gun that is good to start with will,if
looked after, appreciate in value in dollar
terms. That is solely because the dollar is
designed to depreciate in value.

I'd say that the value of a gun you have goes up beacuse
-you have a record of reliability
-you get more proficient with it
-if ability to get or keep arms gets further restricted...a legal sidearm is valuable, an prohibited one is invaluable.

Even a POS weapon is better than nothing for purposes of saving your life.
