A few years ago (abt 1995) my car was stolen from the parking lot where I was working. In the glove box I had a NAA .22 magnum revolver (1.125 inch barrel). When my car was recovered (but not the weapon), the perps had used the revolver to put five holes in my windshield.
I did not tell the investigating officer about the weapon (this was before we Texans could legally carry concealed) on the day of the theft, but reluctantly reported the loss of the revolver to the police the following day.
What I've always wondered is: What happens if the weapon is recovered? I'm not concerned about it being returned, but just will I ever know of its recovery? What "usually" happens? Anybody know?
