From 106th Congress of the United States House of Representatives - I received a snailmail letter today from Michigan Congressman Pete Hoekstra in response to my questions about S. 2099 (Handgun Registration Act). Excerpt: "...Although the legislation S. 2099 has been introduced in the Senate and not the House of Representatives, I can assur you I would not support such a measure. I believe that a more effectve methos of "gun controle' is to provide appropriate resources to ensure that individuals who commit crimes with guns are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as opposed to arbitrarily limiting the right s of law-abiding citzens to purchase firearms.If you would like to read this bill, I have a backup http://www.geekswithguns.com/newsarticle/handgun_registration_act.html
