Handgun Reblueing?

i took my s&w model 27 out last night and spotted a small bit of rust on the side plate  ..... since there are a couple of dings in the finish from the time i dropped it anyway  . i was wondering who had the best deals on refinishing my baby. needs the dings takin out and the blueing redone i guess... i had thought about sending to smith&wesson for a factory job but i need some input on some smiths too. outside of the dings in the barrel and the cylinder and the rust spot about the size of a pin head the thing is in great shape for a 1968 vintage revolver.... ideas?

S&W will have the best combination of quality, price, and turnaround.

Plus a genuine factory re-finish is less damaging to the value than a non-factory re-finish.

Plus, while S&W has it, they will check it over for you.

YEP D-FERRIS..... i'd have the techs at s&w look it over while was there for sure... i should go over to the smith&wesson website to check on getting it done.... any tips on how to keep a blued gun from rusting ?? i did think it was covered good with rem oil anough to keep it from doing that anyway.

after seeing those reports on the s&w forum i'm really guessing what to do now....... you'd think they might have some really good craftsmen there to work on those old treasures but i guess not......
