im looking for info or good websites for getting prices on some used handguns
the guns for sale are: smith and wesson 357 model 66-2, ruger 22 mark I (looks like it has a heavy barrel) and a interarms 45 colt virginian dragoon

www.gunbroker.com and www.gunsamerica.com and www.auctionarms.com

Nice job skirting the for sale section rules, though.

im not trying to skirt anything(except for the hot chick next door hehehe). im not selling them im just helping a friend who isnt a "gun guy" find some prices so he can sell them for his mother in law

Just my .02$- (.01$ after our Dear Leader gets his cut)

Most of the guns on all three of those sites seem way high, to me anyway. As an example, look on Gunbroker, go to, say the S&W revolvers, and see how many of the guns there have Zero bids. A lot of those guns have been listed there for a long, long, time.
Then again, if you go by the Gun Digest Standard Catalog of gun prices they seem to be more in line, conservative, if you will. which is good, unless you are selling!
Your freind has an Interarms Virginian Dragoon? Great gun! It is wierd though, I have not heard a peep about those in years, and I swear, yours is like the 15'th one I have seen for sale in the last couple of weeks!
They are really a great revolver but they do not command very high prices,YET! They were meant to be a bargain gun I believe, but like anything else if they start garnering interest, as it appears that they have due to the recent sightings, the prices will climb. Like I said, I consider them, whether they were the Swiss guns, or made in the facility in Va. they are just a very well made, basic Single Action Revolver, and what you see is what you get with them.

Go to Gunbroker, log in and do a search under "completed auctions." Then you'll get what they actually sell for, not what the sellers want you to pay.

The asking prices on GunBroker mean nothing, but if you look at the bidding prices that's an excellent indicator -- and by definition the closing prices are the going market price. I find GunBroker is a much better site than GunsAmerica. Listings will sit on GA literally for months and there's no indication of interest or activity since it's not an auction site (in fact a lot of "bidding" is going on, just via PMs to the sellers so it's not at all transparent). GB is transparent, dynamic, and has a huge listing. If you're selling, list on both. If you're buying or pricing, you can't get any useful information from GA.

Since two of your guns are very common, you can also just bring them to the local gun store and see what they'll pay. That price is typically 70% of what they think they can sell them for (and perhaps 70% of the upper bound of what GB will bring.)
