Handgun on my 21st birthday.

I am planning on getting a handgun on my twenty-first birthday. Is it possible for me to buy one and have it shipped to a local FFL and actually pick it up with the background check and transferal on my birthday, or do I need to initiate the process after my twenty-first birthday?

It`s all about the state

You need to check out the laws of the state you live in,or talk to your local FFL dealer. here, in (gun hating) Mass.,you need to be 21 to even apply for an LTC. and then there is this crap about certian guns not bieng able to be sold in MA, because they havent been "approved" of, such as the new Ruger P-85 9mm,even though that guns been around for years,or the Hi point autos. anyway, happy birthday,and a full clip is a happy clip, take care,youngster!

you will probably not have to show anything until the ACTUAL transfer takes place and that will be at your FFL. In NC you would still have to get a purchase permit and you could not apply until you were 21.
