Handgun dating...

Can Taurus revolvers be dated by serial number(or any other way)? I have a couple that I have bought used over the past 10 years and am really curious as to their age/date range. My specific model 66 must not be available anymore as it isn't listed on Taurus' website, and it is identical to one that I purchased back in '86. Blued, six shot, 4 inch. My model 85 shows some age, which makes me curious. Any help? Thanks guys.

Navy, no I've not called, yet. I hate using the phone, too impatient when on hold. Just thought I'd check here first.
I will check that link and probably call this afternoon. Thanks!

Navy, thanks again for that link--I just checked it out and it worked for me.

Re handgun dating

If you're dating your handgun, be very careful not to fall in love - the honeymoon could have disastrous consequences!

:D

Yeah, I reckon I asked for that!
"but guys, it don't eat much or cry at night, and also doesn't mind if I have a newer model on the side"
The sense of humor on this sight is one of the things that keep me coming back. Take care guys!
